TI has recently introduced several LVDS crosspoints with excellent performance. The DS25CP104 is part of a new family of LVDS crosspoints capable of speeds from DC to 3.125 Gbps with very low jitter. This 4 X 4 crosspoint features both input equalization and output pre-emphasis to minimize media induced ISI (inter-symbol-interference). The device can be configured and signal conditioning settings set using either external pins or via the serial SM Bus. Each input/output has an individual setting for maximum flexibility. This crosspoint has very low jitter, about 10 ps typical and 35ps max at 3.125 Gbps. Each input is monitored and a Loss-of-Signal register is maintained that can be accessed via the SM Bus. The very low jitter, signal conditioning features and a wide range of data-rates make this device a good choice for many switching and routing applications.
