The main issue to consider in newer applications for Li-Ion batteries is that applications like e-bikes, server storage backup power, high power cordless tools, and electric vehicles operate at much higher power levels, and higher voltages are required. When using a lithium ion battery pack, each cell internal to the pack must be monitored to ensure safety and prolong service life. With more cells in a battery, naturally the complexity of cell monitoring circuits will increase.
