Parts 1-3 of this series have already covered the basic idea that all battery management circuits have similar functions: to make sure the pack is safe to use under all conditions, to make sure that the battery is maintained so as to maximize its operating service life, and to control charging properly in order to ensure maximum capacity is restored each time without going above the safe charging thresholds.
