Concerto overcomes the compromises by providing independent subsystems on a single device. First, a real time control subsystem is architected with the C28x core and advanced control peripherals for closed loop control systems that really care about performance, loop latency, resolution and throughput. Secondly, a host communication subsystem that includes a great host CPU, the ARM Cortex™- M3 core, with connectivity peripherals such as Ethernet, USB, CAN, and serial communications. The result is a single MCU that provides a tightly coupled interface, a single platform for development, and no compromises in performance between real-time control and communications.
