The LTC3375 offers maximum configurability, the buck regulator output stages may be combined with a common input supply and a single inductor, up to 4A output. The IC is capable of fifteen unique power configurations shown here, all the way from an “octal buck” with eight independent 1A outputs, down to a “dual buck” with two ganged 4A outputs requiring only two inductors. Sometimes in a development environment, the current and voltage requirements for each rail are frequently unknown until near the end of the project. Additionally, similar project applications can have big differences in DC/DC current requirements from revision to revision. A multi-channel, configurable DC/DC converter addresses all of these issues. The LTC3375 is a highly versatile building block that can be used in many different applications.
