SAM9 MPU Boot Solutions and Application Deployment Slide 2
A standard ARM9 MPU during a classical boot sequence will have to boot from a memory suitable for code execution such as NOR Flash. He will execute his main application out of that memory and will probably have to access a NAND for Read Only Data and an SDRAM for Read/Write Data and even Code execution. In such boot sequence, up to three external memories can be implicated and accessed by the ARM9 MPU.
