The LTC3119’s advantages over other LTC buck-boost devices are shown in the table on this slide. Compared to LTC monolithic buck-boosts like LTC3112, the LTC3119 has higher output current, wider Vin and Vout range, MPPC, simpler current mode control, low voltage run on Vin after startup, and auto Burst Mode operation. When compared with LTC controllers, the LTC3119 is a simpler, more compact solution as no external FETs or current sense resistors are required, has a wider Vin range, and comparable efficiency. Against LTM µModules, the LTC3119 is quieter with no transition jitter, and has a wider Vin range.
