1553 Series Hand-Held Enclosures

Hammond Manufacturing has launched a range of hand held enclosures - the 1553 soft-side family. Featuring an ergonomic curved shape that fits comfortably into the hand, the cases are initially available in five sizes, ranging from 75 x 50 x 17 mm to 147 x 89 x 24 mm, and in 6 color combinations. The units are molded in general purpose ABS and are ideal for housing hand-held instruments, remote controllers, flying lead machine controllers and many other applications where a stylish, easy-to-hold enclosure is required. All sized are over-molded with soft side grips, which act both as styling points as an improvement to the grip of the unit. Most sizes are available with or without battery doors or compartments and have a removable plastic front panel. The battery compartments are complete with four clips for use with two AA batteries and a flying lead connector for a 9 V PP3 size. The top cover is recessed to allow a membrane keypad to be flush mounted, and PCB standoffs are molded into the base. The larger units are secured with four screws, the smaller units with two.
