Power distribution units, commonly known as “power strips”, distribute power to several devices. They can also experience unexpected circuit overloads if not metered or monitored. In the PDU market, there exists a need to accurately monitor load currents in order to minimize the occurrences of circuit breakers tripping due to overloading. Server farm installations (one of the largest users of PDUs) are particularly sensitive to inadvertent breaker tripping.
