It is packaged in the small QFN 5x6, the smallest in its category, and is able to manage a power up to 65 W. Small device dimensions combined with the high performance and high switching frequency of a GaN power device, make a highly integrated design with high power density possible, obtaining a final product, USB-PD charger, which is faster, lighter, smaller, and easy to carry around.

Following the mega-trend for global energy reduction, the VIPERGAN65’s low stand-by consumption offers a direct contribution to reducing energy usage in line to the ambitious project of achieving net-zero emissions over the coming decades.

The quasi-resonant (QR) operation with the dynamic blanking time feature and the valley synchronization function reduces the switching losses and maximizes the overall efficiency at any input line and load condition. The advanced power management with low quiescent helps achieve low stand-by consumptions. The feedforward compensation minimizes the input peak power variation over the entire input voltage range. The device supports secondary side regulation (SSR) flyback configuration with a standard optocoupler.
