High-Frequency Push-Pull Transformers – PAG6356 Series

PAG6356 series high isolation push-pull transformers from Pulse Electronics’, a YAGEO Company, use the versatile EP7 platform with extended creepage in a compact package size (13 mm x 10 mm x 12.5 mm), selected to provide reinforced insulation and up to 1000 V_pk voltage rating. The selection of a high-frequency material and winding design supports a switching frequency of up to 2 MHz for a power delivery of up to 10 W. The unique feature of this series is the 21 V µsec volt-second (ET) rating based on 1 MHz switching frequency, suitable for an input voltage of up to 60 V. Different turns ratios are available to deliver 3.3 V to 15 V output from a 24 V to 36 V input range, with 5000 V_AC electrical isolation, required for a range of industrial and automotive applications.

The PAG6356 is a market first in providing an ET rating appropriate for higher input voltage that is based on the frequency range of the TI SN6507. This allows the user to benefit from the magnetic size reduction that comes with high switching frequencies when selecting SiC power devices for enhanced system efficiency.
