SC18IS604 SPI-to-I²C-Bus Bridge

NXP's SC18IS604 is designed to serve as an interface between the standard SPI of a host (microcontroller, microprocessor, chip set, etc.) and the serial I²C-Bus. This allows the host to communicate directly with other I²C-Bus devices.

The SC18IS604 can operate as an I²C-Bus controller-transmitter or controller-receiver. The SC18IS604 controls all the I²C-Bus-specific sequences, protocols, arbitration, and timing.

The SC18IS604-EVB SPI to I²C serial interface demonstration board is available to demonstrate NXP bridge solutions for serial interface communication between an SPI host device and multiple I²C target devices. The modular design allows for a simple interface to SPI controllers and various I²C target boards through headers.
