B84742A*R725 Series Single-Phase EMI Filters

TDK Corporation's EPCOS B84742A*R725 series single-phase EMC filters that are suitable for AC and DC applications up to 250 V and a current rate range of 6 A to 30 A. The filters are made for DC infrastructure in the industrial and building sectors. Available in five versions, these small 97 mm x 60 mm x 34.5 mm (L x W x H) single-phase filters weigh 310 g or less and snap quickly and conveniently onto TH35 DIN-rails (top-hat rails). The conductors are fastened with M4 screws and the screw connection is equipped with touch protection.

The insertion loss of the filters is very high. Depending on the model, common-mode noise is 40 dB and differential-mode noise is over 80 dB at frequencies between 70 kHz and 10 MHz. Simultaneously, the leakage currents are very low at less than 2 mA, preventing unintentional tripping of RCDs. This product family is UL-approved and specified for a rated temperature of up to +55°C.

For short periods of time, the EMC filters can handle higher currents including 150% rated current for three minutes per hour and 250% rated current for 30 seconds per hour. This is useful in drive applications when starting electric motors. Other applications include power supplies and information and communication technology (ICT).
