Automotive design often employs two distinct capacitors in series to protect the PCBs for power supply and battery line from a short circuit via MLCC cracking. The CEU capacitor series can support this function based on its serial construction. Another advantage of the Serial Design capacitor is that it simplifies the circuit and saves costs on the PCB. In particular, the component count of 2 capacitors in series is reduced to 1 Serial Design capacitor. This series is designed around automotive uses, but can also be implemented in higher reliability applications with similar requirements.
