The key features of the NCS1 series begin with its fully regulated design. While Murata’s other low power products in similar SIP packages all rely on a regulated input source, the NCS1 models are the first to accommodate wide ranging input sources. The 4.5-18V input models will accommodate nominal 5V, 12V, and 15V inputs, while the 9-36V models accommodate nominal inputs of 12V, 15V, 18V, 24V, 28V, and 32V. For each input range, models are available with output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, and 12V for a total of 6 models. The NCS1 series is designed for compliance with the widely accepted UL 60950 safety standard with 1kV isolation and functional insulation, with certification currently pending. The NCS1 operates over the very wide industrial temperature range of -40°C to 105°C, supporting operation in still air for the most demanding environments. All models deliver full power to 75°C, with some models delivering full power to 95°C. Above these temperatures, the output power derates, with the units continuing to operate to temperatures over 100°C. The package is an industry standard 8-pin SIP configuration featuring an output on/off control pin. Unlike similar unregulated parts, these models are fully and continuously protected against short circuit. RoHS compliance completes the list of highlighted features.
