There are three options for providing an ADC reference to the LTC2338 family. The first uses the internal 2.048V precision reference and single-shot reference buffer to achieve a bipolar input range of ±10.24V. This option provides optimum transient performance. The internal reference buffer uses a proprietary design that results in an output voltage change at REFBUF of less than 1 LSB when responding to a sudden burst of conversions. This makes the internal reference buffer truly single-shot capable since the first sample taken after idling will yield the same result as a sample taken after the transient response of the internal reference buffer has settled.
