iCE40™ mobileFPGA™ Family
Lattice's iCE40 mobileFPGA family for smartphone and tablet applications
The iCE40 mobileFPGA family from Lattice is designed for sensor management, video and imaging, custom connectivity, and memory/storage expansion solutions. Fabricated on a 40-nm low-power, standard CMOS process, the iCE40 family has been optimized for mobile consumer applications such as smartphones, tablets, digital still cameras (DSCs), e-book readers, and portable navigation devices (PNDs).
The "Los Angeles" family comes in two power/performance variants. The LP Series is smartphone-targeted and is optimized for low power, and the HX series tablet-targeted series is optimized for higher performance. The ICE40HX1K-BLINK-EVN and ICE40LP1K-BLINK-EVN are low-cost platforms for evaluating and developing with the iCE40 mobileFPGA family. The board provides access to general-purpose I/O and includes capacitive-touch buttons and LEDs. The board is powered and programmed via USB. An on-board microcontroller enables 2-way communication with the iCE40 device. The iCEcube2™ development software is required to run the included demos. The software can be downloaded for free from the Lattice website.
